    ...shooting models in lingerie :D

    I kid you not!

And having done some initial investigation I can't find the scam. Still hugely sceptical of course, but the origin of the message, the content of the communication and the fact I have no problem checking their refs means I can't just ignore it!

So boys & girls, if you were offered a days work photographing beautiful women in their pants, what sort of day rate would you be thinking of?

I will accept serious answers and funny ones as I'm still chuckling at the whole idea! I doubt very much that it will pan out.

I'm reminded of the oft (mis-)quoted lines from Woody Allen's "What's New, Pussycat"
Michael: Did you get a job?
Victor: Yes, I got something at the strip-tease, I help the girls dress and undress.
    Michael: Nice job.
    Victor: Twenty Francs a week.
    Michael: Not very much.
Victor: It's all I could afford.

    :D

I laughed out loud at this, thank you.

Re the offer: Are you sure the models are female? Do you know what age group the models are?:)

I certainly hope they're female if it's a lingerie shoot....

I guess it depends on not only the time involved shooting but also the time it's gonna take to edit and deliver the finished product to the client? How many models, how many outfits, etc i.e. how many photos are you likely to end up with after a days shooting and how long in man hours is it going to take to edit those images?
I made the mistake previously of not taking into account the amount of time it would take to edit and re-edit where necessary as clients can be fussy at times! and under priced.
Clients IMHO often see what you do on the day as what you are charging for and don't often appreciate the effort that goes into producing their final bunch of presented images!

They have their own edit/retouch team. This outfit is a little more pro than I originally thought! It does all sound a little too good to be true for a hobbyist photographer, doesn't it? But anyway I'm running with it for now!

So back to my original question - 1 day of model shoots in studio. No editing/retouching time. How much to charge? I have a figure in mind but I would genuinely appreciate some serious answers now!

how much is your day worth ?

    Do you want €200, €500, €1000, €10,000

the important thing is you know and understand that you are more than likely not going to be allowed use/sell the images elsewhere and simply turn up, pose people up and press the button.

would you be happy with €250 for your day ? chances are they probably dont want to pay much more than than ... in a basic 8hr day that would be €31.25 an hour ...which is well above the minimum wage.

you are potentially dealing with people who do not care or understand what costs are involved in photography, they simply want someone who knows how to adjust the settings etc and press a button....at as cheap a price as possible.

take it another way - if they didn't give the specifics of the job ...would you be happy with €250 for a day's work.
