    I have a 1997 audi a4 saloon 1.8 l
I have the car over 10 years and the front window washer wont work
the wipers work fine but I cant hear the water pump so im guessing it might be kaput !!

is it easy to replace ?

It could be the regular fuse or the Intelligent Module fuse.
First find both fuses and check.

If the fuses aren't broken get another washer pump online. Ebay has several.

    1. Remove drivers side front wheel
    2. Remove inside fender wheel well covering (about 6-8) screws
    3. Upon removing cover you will note to left of wheel the plastic washer reservoir. Located behind this reservoir are the pumps.
    4. Unscrew reservoir bolts and pull reservoir loose from grommet at top of fill container. Also at this time you can now disconnect the water level sensor plug that plugs in to the left side of the reservoir
    5. Pull reservoir out and you can now locate pumps. If the pumps are bad, this is an easy fix of disconnecting the electrical connects, disconnecting the water lines and pulling the pump out of the reservoir fitting.
    6. Replace new motors and reassemble in reverse order.

    hi biko
thanks for getting back to me so soon
I checked the fuse board. it was a bit confusing
it said that the pump was number 12 but I couldn't see a numbered chart
it said that the pump was also a 25amp and there was only 2 of them so I swapped them over and the pump still didn't work
Ill check out ebay and see how I get on
    I might be back ,,,,
    thanks again
    peter
