over the last few weeks I have seen a vast amount of lorries carrying timber passing the roads. (I had made a few trips from cork to Waterford). where are all these lorries going with the timber. is this for firewood or what?

Smartply, mainly I'd say. More or less next door to new Glanbia plant in Belview. Couple of hundred metres away. I saw that extra traffic a couple of weeks ago was in Cork a couple of times one week.

There's a big sawmill in Fermoy as well called Glennons, prob in there either.
The father drew timber for all my life (mainly into Longford before the fire) so I know it well :)

I assumed op was talking about n25 and that timber traffic was heading east which it was on my trips to Cork recently.
