S3 wifi suddenly won't turn on

I've a rooted S3, which I had from the first week it was launched here. I rooted it and had zero problems.

However, earlier on the wifi suddenly won't turn on. The icon seems greyed out and it wont turn on.

I tried rebooting and also a factory reset. But still the problem persists.

What solution options do I have at this time? The g.friend is using the phone, so I need to fix it before my ears fall off.

    Thanks.

Anyone? The 3G has now stopped working, so I think I'm going to have to unroot it :(

I've never done that before, so any guides on how do that?

    Cheers

Won't help with WiFi but in my case after rooting the phone "forgot" the 3g access point and I had to set it.

The phone has been rooted over a year now? It's just stopped picking up wifi and 3g in the past 24 hours.

In that case I doubt that it is the rooting that caused problems. In case of my girlfriend's phone it was coffee.

I've tried this guide and it's still the same.

Maybe I didn't install the right firmware? This is the one i used from the samsung website: I9300XXEMC2_I9300TSIEMA1_TSI

Anyone know what firmware I should use? It's an unlocked s3.

Can't for the life of me figure out how to fix this. I rooted it and the build number is showing up still as JZO554K.19300XXEMC2

And that's after unrooting it using this guide. I thought it would reset it back to a brand new state?

Rooting a phone will do nothing only give you access to the system files. Build number has nothing to do with rooting.
You'll need to follow the guide on XDA to reset your phone in order to get it ready to send back for repair.
Rooting the phone did not break your 3G or WiFi

I've flashed JOmega v32 - XXDLJ5 ROM and the phone worked perfectly for a few hours, but then it resorted to the wifi not working.

    I'm on version 4.1.1
    and the kernel is Siyah.

Can anyone suggest a link to another kernel that I could flash? It may resolve the problem once and for all for me.

Ok, here is the full breakdown of my problem....

I rooted my S3 about a year ago, when I got it first using CF-Root. Had zero problems.

Gave it to the girlfriend a month ago. Did a factory reset etc, but left it rooted. I did however take out my sd card(which probably has something to do with the problem?)

Anyways, 3 days ago, the wifi suddenly stopped working on it all of a sudden. The wifi tab is kind of greyed out and wont turn on or scan for any networks. (see photos below)

I tried turning the phone on/off, taking out the battery etc. Nothing worked.

I then flashed the same ROM back onto it and the problem disappeared for a day, but then all of a sudden reappeared! I thought I had fixed it, but no!

I put back in a sd card,I then downloaded and flashed another Rom(CM 10.2) using Rom manager from the sd card, and the problem disappeared again.

But after 12 hours both the wifi and the 3G stopped functioning

I've no idea what is the problem. Can anyone help me out with this? Could it be the kernel that's causing the problem? I'm not very tech savvy guys. I know how to root the phone, but I've had to deal with any issues.

I'd really appreciate any help, as we need access to the net from our phones. I've included photos below so that you can see the rom and kernal and other details that may help ye decipher the problem.

Anyone any clue as to what I can do to either get this back it it's "out of the box" state or get it back working on some ROM with all the features working?
