    It uses a small hand shower that will be fine on the cold (mains water) but the hot would depend on the head of water.

    Is it a single story house ??

    its a two storey house. if i got a low pressure mixer tap would i have to reduce the mains cold water pressure?

    That's a high pressure tap, the mains difference is the size of the connections. You can use it but the flow may be restricted to the hot side of the tap depending on the head pressure. You need a mono block tap with 15mm copper inlets which you will need two 15mm straight connectors to connect it to the supplies. The inlets on the tap body will be bigger than the high pressure tap.
