My college house is fairly old and my room has a crappy non solid door, the worst part of it is all the upstairs rooms have a pain of glass with 2" of a vent like attempt under it.

At the moment ive a towel stuffed in it but is there any other way to help stop the sound coming in from downstairs or is there anything I can put around the door between the door and the frame to help?
The glass is so thin Its might aswel not be there either.

You can have a conversation perfectly from either side of the door at the minute

You could try draping a heavy acoustic curtain over the door.
