I was in the gym yesterday roish, and this guy totally like leaves the 25kgs on the bar, so I had to take them off myself and put two 50kgs on roish, I was totally like peed off don't they pay people to do that?? And to top it all of roish, there was no bottled water left, so I had to like use the poor people water to make my protein shake. Worst day ever loike

I am sorry OP. Sometimes life can be overwhelmingly ****ty. Like the other posters have said, try to focus on the positives even if you have to dig them out of dusty old suitcases and surround yourself with things that make you happy. Failing that, buy a mountain of chocolate, make yourself a cup of tea and settle into a really good book. It works for me.

Of course they can ... but things will never get better, if you sit around focusing in the negative ... 'pick your self up and move on' ... that's the key phrase .

I had the extreme displeasure of having to spend a couple of nights in Calgary a number of years ago. A dreadful city, with more culture in a Petit Filous yogurt. If it wasn't for an enjoyable and robust encounter with a rather wanton Canadian lady then I wouldn't have a single positive thing to say about the place.

You've had a bad few days since you got back. But you aren't there!

I agree. When the **** goes down, do nice things for yourself. Do the things you missed doing when you were over there.

If I was in your shoes i.e. in Ireland, I'd get out in that fresh air, breath 'er in good 'n' proper and go for a long walk with good music in my ears, sit in the kitchen and drink cups of tea/wine with my family and just feel their presence, catch up with old friends and go out for a night on the lash, which is always great fun at home.

It always takes time to settle home when you've been away for so long (been there, done that) so give it time. You'll be grand. Welcome home!

Funny isn't it.....sht is always ready and waiting to go wrong, yet things going right/good things aren't the same, they dont happen by themselves, they require intervention.

For example, why is it that a bridge or house is always ready to collapse...yet its never the case that in life a bridge/house is ready to automatically manifest.
You'll hear of good folks dying terrible needless deaths, but not people you liked coming back to life. you can trip and hurt yourself but not trip and suddenly feel good. why the fvck is this world pitched against us.
Weird post I know. But ya gotta question the fundamentals sometimes.

Simple answer really, the universe isn't intelligent and doesn't give a single solitary **** about any of us. The things we want go counter to nature, so you're always going to have to fight to make them happen.
