    Following the recent sad events on campus I want to remind all students that there is a professional, on-campus Counselling service. This is available free of charge to all students.

    They offer support for many different issues such as;

    Stress, Panic/anxiety attacks, Crisis pregnancy, Eating disorders, Bereavement, Exam stress, Post-abortion, Depression, Relationships, Sexual/emotional/physical abuse, Gender issues, Bullying, Confidence / self-esteem issues, Feeling suicidal, Family Issues, Addictive behaviours, and others.

    Drop in service is available between 2-3pm Mon-Tue with Brid (T312) and with Nessa 2-3pm Wed - Fri (T311)
    Alternatively appointments can be made by emailing or phoning the counsellors;

    brid.oconnell@mic.ul.ie Tel: 204948
    nessa.breen@mic.ul.ie Tel: 204919
    Factsheets and further information are available from the website: http://www.mic.ul.ie/adminservices/counsellingservices/Pages/default.aspx

    Alternatively the following resources are also available
    http://www.samaritans.org/ Tel: 1850 60 90 90
    http://www.aware.ie/ Tel: 1890 303 302

    The details here are a bit out of date. Not sure if the traffic warrants updating them, but it might be worthwhile?
