Can anyone tell me exactly what voile curtains are, are they heavy or see through, and would they be suitable to put on a patio door to keep out the drafts.

Voile is lightweight fabric. They would be see through, but can be lined . I would suggest a heavier fabric if you want to keep out draughts.
