2nd Year BA Placement - Garda Vetting

    Hey all,

For my 3rd year placement I've to be Garda Vetted.

Looking back over the lecture slides, it says I've to have a Garda Vetting application and €50 given to the Placement Office by November 22nd.

That just means a form I've filled out, ready for submitting, right? Or does it mean a form that's already been submitted and approved / signed by the Gardaí?

    Thanks!

It's just the form! MIC go to the Gardaí for ya!

While we're on this matter, does anyone know how long Garda Vetting lasts for?

It depends on where it's for. You have to get vetted for every new organisation you work for (that requires clearance), by that I mean you can't carry your GC over from one place to another. SOme places require you to get vetted every year. My old job only got you vetted on starting the job.
