Whining in Vw golf 1.4

    hi, i have a 1.4 golf and ive noticed a whining sound coming from the engine bay. it seems to be coming from the alternator but cant exactly put my finger on it. can anyone shed some light on the problem I'm having thanks

    Probably a dying bearing in some accessory like the alternator or A/C compressor.

    if its the alternator again ill crack up because i only got that changed in february i think.

    Was it changed with a new/reconditioned or used part.

    Could be your power steering pump, are you low on fluid?
    Other than that, a pulley or tensioner!

    when they changed it the first time they said the bearing was loose and it was making some other strange noise,a noise as if the bearing was rattling around in the alternator. it wouldnt be the power steering pump because i heard somone elses car had that problem and sound was completely different
