How to adjust Hortsmann E7 Quartz Immersion Tank?

    Can any boardsies advise on how to adjust the temperature on my Immersion tank connected to a Hortsmann E7 Quartz System.

    Basically I have two elements, bottom for night, top for boost. However, the 4-5 hour off-peak mode I put on at night 4-8am (bottom element) doesn't heat the tank enough for a nice hot shower in the morning. It's only warmish. (Also there isn't that much hot water in the morning 2 x 5min showers max). Tank feeds electric shower. No bath.

    I have checked that the boost is connected to correct element (top) which was raised before in other E7 threads.

    Anyway here's a pic of the connection on the bottom element on Immersion tank. Can anyone advise which way to turn blue thing and by how much, and offer advice on doing this. Can't afford electrician....

    Appreciate all advice! :pac:

    In pic 2 the thermostat is the blue item mark bt7.to turn up the temp turn the white control to your right only slightly as more than that and your water temp could be to high

    Thnaks, do the white lines mean changes in degree by 10c?

    Gonna bump this thread with a follow up question. *Sorry for massive pics*

    The Bottom element in the immersion tank recently stopped working and an electrician fixed it by the following re-wiring;

    This is the wiring pic before the element stopped working.

    I now kinda suspect the electrician has bypassed the thermostat and now the tank is constantly heating during the night, and wasting electricity. Am I right?

    Could any Electrician on boards or Robbie.G if you're still there! :pac: clarify this with the wiring in pic?

    Really appreciate any info! :pac:

    He has bypassed the overheat stat.That won't cause the heater to stay on or use more electricity but he has disabled a safety feature.My main question would be why?was the immersion not working regularly?do you have solid fuel that could be setting off the overheat stat.

    Hi thanks for info! This bottom element is connected to the night time off-peak switch which just stopped working, nothing but cold water after it had been on 4 hours during the night. I'm in rented accommodation where only electricity is used in house. Anything I should be concerned about in current setup?

    Immersions have only been fitted with overheat stats in the last 5 years.As they are a safety feature in the even of the working stat failing the overheat kicks in if the immersion goes over 80degrees.
    So in the event of something seriously going wrong a safety feature has been disabled.I would get the sparks to have another look at it.
