Leaving Cert Comparative for 2014- volunteer needing help!

I'm a volunteer tutor with the Separated Children Service (http://www.separatedchildrenservice.ie/about-us) and this year I've been assigned a student who is in his final year. I'm not a teacher but I have a degree in English so I'm not completely clueless, it's just been a while since I did the Leaving myself!

I've just got a reply today to a note I sent with him to his English teacher informing me of the choices for the comparative study. Basically while I am trying to do a bit of research myself and will have to read/watch the texts to have an idea, I'm wondering if anyone could suggest some of the links to be found between the three texts. I'm sure the teacher in question has themes and everything in mind but with the nature of the volunteering I do it's very easy for my students to fall behind or simply not understand what they're supposed to be doing due to language barriers and other issues, which is where I come in.

The texts are Wuthering Heights (which I know inside out), Blade Runner (which I've seen once and am very forgetful) and All My Sons (which I shamefully admit I had never heard of until my class with him today).

I know it may be a little cheeky to ask this much help from others I'm just feeling slightly overwhelmed at the enormity of the task, his apparent confusion about the whole thing, and the seemingly huge differences between the texts!

Any suggestions would be gratefully received! Thanks!

Surely the teacher sent out the themes etc s/he was covering too? It'd be easier to stick with what the rest of them are doing rather than starting from scratch. Is the student doing ordinary or higher?
