    From work just heading out of dublin towards celbridge on the lucan road when i stuck in a queue of cars behind a tractor pulling a massive trailer full of maize,came out of teagasc backweston crop testing place.
    Teagasc are starting early this year normally it's november they start delivering harvested maize to local farmers in tractor loads or some collect themselves with their own trailer.

    EXAMPLE;
    This has been going on for 5 or more years now.
    There's a farmer near me he gets up to 15 loads of grain trailer loads of maize he collects it himself or they deliver it to him.
    Even though this farmer has plenty of hay straw silage and some haylage.

    One happy farmer no depression here.

    Just wondering is this normal getting maize this way,does this happen anywhere else there's a teagasc crop testing place.

    Id say he pays for it. Wouldn't be getting it for free now. Wouldn't bother me if my neighbour was getting it

    local farmers definitely paying for it. probably not paying full commercial price as they are trial varieties and some of the maize could be crap
