You will find some older threads by googling like this:
    www.google.ie/search?q=Agricultural+mechanic+site:boards.ie
    and www.google.ie/search?q=Agri+mechanic+site:boards.ie
Other than that I can't help you on that particular career choice.
    Good luck!

Being a car mechanic is bad enough. Being an agricultural mechanic must be pure torture :pac:

    different ball game completetly

I'm a farmer and my guy wouldn't touch a car , bigger the better for him

    to answer op

a good technique, and a modest set up will eliminate a lot of the lifting ,
for example we recently changed a final drive bearing and seal in 2 hours on a 120 hp tractor

if i was to do it by myself most lilkely taken a day , and I'd finised up with skinned knuckles and a fu$£ed back

btw I often made a high speed cross country dash to mahon mc phillips for parts , they were nuffield main dealers
