I remember when I was a kid in the 1980's there was a sitcom I use to watch at night but I just cant remember the name of it. All I can remember was the ending credits which were quite distinctive. I think it was a sitcom similar to Rising Damp . The credits had a guy in a painters suite paint rolling a wall and as the credits ended he just finishes the wall.

Who can tell me the name of this program? I just cant remember and I want to catch up with it online somwhere:(

    Thanks

It was an 80s show, not 70s. Didn't dexys midnight runners do the theme tune. Character called Elmo Putney in it, or am I thinking of something else?

I realise it's an 80s show - but the OPs post said 70s in the title but 80s in the post.

Didn't really watch the programme to be honest, just remember the end sequence.... But I think there was another show where the title sequence showed them painting the hull of a ship on a suspended dolly.

Ye for some reason I thought it was a 70's show. Time had changed my perception of what era it was made in. Great show, watching the pilot episode on youtube now.
