So as the title suggests, broke my screen today at work, only about an inch of the screen at the top is visible, black from then on down, with a nice hairline creak from side to side.

Anyone any idea of prices for replacement screen?

    Dublin/Kildare area.

    Thanks.

your best bet is probably www.syncron.ie up in rosemount business park.

nice guys too and very reasonable compared to most places, I just got an ipod touch repaired there.

www.fonfix.ie is €141 for a full replacement and its ready in 2 hours. They use genuine parts, Ive had mine done there and I have recommended them over on the S4 main thread with a few others going and very happy with their work.

I have a crack on my screen too. Well its the second screen underneath the top one. Not very big or noticeable but it drives me mad. Can't justify spending €141 on it though.

that looks more like the digitizer coming away from the display. I prob wouldnt bother with that either tbh, maybe if you could source a cheap screen and fit it yourself.

There's a place in blanch shopping centre that did my htc one x screen replacement last year. they were charging €200 to do it then too even though it was only the digitizer that was cracked. they said that the digitizer was bonded to the lcd so they had to replace both.

i was never happy with the job they did and they didn't even fix the wifi issue that i'd asked them to look at (the one that's a quick easy fix to a simple problem available everywhere on the net). the replacement they put in eventually cracked (digitizer again), but even though i could put a fingernail under the new digitizer and pry it away from the LCD myself, they still wanted €200 to replace the whole thing again rather than just the digitizer.

i asked syncron about it and they offered to do the same job for €100, so that's definitely a step up. :)

i've ordered some new oem parts for it myself (screen, new back case, camera lens, buttons and battery) and i might get them to do a proper refurb job on it so i can sell it on as it's still a decent phone and will then be 'as new' with pretty much everything replaced except the electronics.
