UPC’s internet service was down again in the Cork area today for about five hours. It is appalling that a metropolitan area of some 400,000 people has to suffer such systematic network defects on an ongoing basis.

The previous widescale outage in Cork city was on 11 September.

ComReg shares responsibility for giving a fatpipe monopoly license to UPC to provide these services.
