Is My LAN 100Mbps or Gigabit

    Hi,

    I'm looking for a way of determining if my LAN is Gigabit or not. Some reviews put it at "10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet", but under Network Devices in Devices Manager it shows "Broadcom Netlink (tm) Gigabit Ethernet".

    I'm leaning towards the 10/100Mbps, seeing as the wired speed is only 80 - 85Mbps on a 150Mbps line (whereas my work laptop gets over 120Mbps).

    It depends on what it is connected to.
    If you indeed have a Gigabit port on your PC/Laptop, then, is it connected to a Gigabit port on your router/switch or to a 10/100 port?
