Boiler/burner

    Hey lads just wondering how much I could get a new burner and boiler for? Our old one just died and we`ve a new baby in the house so could do with the heating! A second hand or refurb would do either

    What area are you in and are you sure boiler is beyond repair. If you could post a picture we can give good advice.
    + make and age of boiler + burner.

    What's wrong with it ?
    Did you have somebody look at it yet?

    you would be very unlucky if both packed in at the same time

    is boiler leaking

    Its an old myson. The fan seems to have packed up on the burner but the whole system is 22 years old so its probably time to update it! My dad is a plumber so he`ll fit the new one if I get it

    Not to come across smart or anything but did you not get your dad to look at it or ask him how much a new one would cost

    so its just your burner that has stopped working?. if so and your boiler is ok I wouldnt change it for anything less than a condensing boiler, preferably new and preferably a grant vortex, if your budget doesnt stretch to this I would only repair/replace the burner for now.
