hi im just wondering if a 6 speed gearbox from a gt tdi or another 1.9 tdi would bolt straight in to my golf. i currently have a 5 speed but looking for a 6 speed. im also looking for larger injectors. where would i get these and what type would i need ? looking to push it out to 200 BHP by upgrading the injectors, intake, exhaust, turbo/supercharge if possible? also looking for a good set of second hand air bag suspension if anyone knows a good place to get them itd be very helpful :) also ill be upgrading the clutch to cope with the extra power. itd be very helpful if i could get advice from someone on where to get any of these. thanks :)

What base engine are you starting with 105 ? I think 200 from their might be a site too far, probably better off starting with a 140, then 200 isn't that far off at all.

You will need a lot of bolt on's though turbo, exhaust, front mount intercooler, injectors etc as well as suspension and brake upgrades. Personally i wouldn't put airbags on a car with 200bhp i'd fitted good coilovers or a cup kit instead.

its a 105 but its already at 140BHP. i think the turbo is on its way out aswell so ill be replacing it and if im going that far ill probably upgrade with the exhaust intercooler and injectors. for the brake upgrades what would i be looking for ? would a gt tdi braking system cope or would i need bigger? i was considering coilovers but never heard of a cup kit what is that ?

The best bang for buck brakes you could fit would be those of a GTI, the are 312mm.

A cup kit is a set of matched springs and dampers, the best out there is probably H&R, the do at least 2 different types.

140 is probably the limit of where you are at now, you need to do your homework before going any further, it might actually make for sense in the long run to sell your current one, buy a 140 and start with that base.

What ever you do fit all the mods and then remap it last, that way you will get the best out of those mods.

right ill keep an eye out for them then.
what would they be on price for a good set ?
right ok well ill see what happens then i might do a few small mods and keep it for a while then upgrade. just handy at the minute because its a car/van so the tax is cheap and so is insurance :)

A secondhand set of 312 brakes should be no more than 250/300 euro for everything. I'm not sure if the 105bhp has the one peice hubs where the caliper carrier is a part of the hub,if it does then you will need to change the hubs also to ones that are threaded for a caliper carrier.

I suppose a cup kit is gonig to cost 400 euro not sure on that, usually more than the really bad cheap coilovers and not as expensive as the premium coilovers, either way an air installation is going to cost way more than premuim coilovers and the car won't handle as well.

sound job lad thanks for that :) ill take a look round for them then and check out a few scrap yards for the brakes and few bits like that :) yeah for top of the range from air-lift they're £2500^ with no labour cost. so ill look into the cup kits thanks

2500 stg would essentially pay for a set of brakes,an intercooler,a turbo and an exhaust - that is crazy money.

Maybe tossy can correct me but a good start for more power would be 7 hole injectors ( stock ones are 5 hole) and get them pop tested. Flow more with higher injector breaking pressure.

As for the turbo you may either go vnt (something like a garrett gt2256v for example) or go compound (do your maths for this one)

Not cheap options but if one is after power then theres a start

If you were a mechanical setup with a ve pump I could rabble on for ages
