Wireless Adapter for Thompson TWG870UIR Router

I'm very pleased with the Thompson TWG870UIR router which UPC installed when I subscribed to their broadband service some time ago. However, I have another desktop pc in another room which I'd like to connect to the router via a wireless adapter. Is it necessary to have an adapter which is tailored to this specific router or is there a generic wireless adapter which would do the job?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
