    Tell us this.....would all early Fords sold in Ireland have been built in Cork.....I have a 1956 Popular...built in Cork maybe..???any way to tell...??

    Most likely, would have 'Ford, Marina :eek: , Cork' on the chassis plate and the glass would have some Irish co. mark on it as well .

    they tended to engrave the chassis plates rather than stamp them.

    I have a small book all about the Ford plant in cork, it details all the types of cars built there, its an interesting story actually. I'll see if I can find it

    Or a base model became top of the the range when the all the extas were pulled out from behind the door cards and the back seat.
