Retro Claiming Frequent Flyer points

Has anyone had experience retroclaiming frequent flyer points without having an original boarding pass? I flew from beijing to sydney with malaysia airlines (a partner airline of Etihad Guest) in August. I want to claim the airmiles for this flight but Etihad Guest stipulates that I need to have a scanned copy of my boarding pass for that flight and the scanned image needs to be emailed on to them. I don't have the boarding pass. Is it possible to get another copy of a boarding pass, or similar documentary proof of travel , from an airline for this purpose?

Copy of your ticket and a scan of any stamps in your passport relevant to the trip?

Generally they require boarding passes (to prove that flight was actually taken) in this scenario.

Not sure how it's a consumer issue? As a frequent flyer I always make sure to save my boarding passes, especially on partner airlines, until after the miles have been credited.

OP you may have to resign yourself to not getting these, as the last poster said, having the bp is a basic requirement of retro claiming miles.

Moved to the Travel forum, as this is not a Consumer Issue

I had to do that with British airways once. I dropped them an email and they replied saying I should scan my boarding pass and a few other things too. Too much hassle I thought so gave them a ring and with just my name and date of the flight I was able to claim my points. It might not be the same with Etihad but try a phone call! :)

How can I claim for BA flights on my Aer Lingus account - put my normal number in when booking the BA flights, but doesn't seem to have been credited to my account at all.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I booked a class of fare that does not allocate points as a partner airline. I just checked on the Etihad website and saw for myself that it is the case.
I just received an email back from Etihad. Here is a part of the email:

Thank you for taking the time to contact the Etihad Guest Service Centre with your request for missing Etihad Guest Miles to be credited to your account.

As a valued member of the Etihad Guest programme, you can earn miles when you fly as our guest on most flights.

In this instance however, the below fare class booked does not qualify to earn Etihad Guest Miles.

    MH361 29AUG13 PEKKUL Fare class O
    MH141 29AUG13 KULSYD Fare Class O
