30th Birthday in January

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone would have any ideas of what I could do for my boyfriends 30th birthday in early January  It falls on the 7th and the last few years have been pretty poor because if we go away somewhere it is usually dead as no one has any money or interest in going out after the Christmas. I was thinking of maybe a weekend away probably Europe, but I don t know if that will be the same as it is here at home (crap weather, closed restaurants and nothing on) :(. Any ideas on where we could go around January the 10th for a weekend? I was thinking of taking him over to a rugby match that weekend on Glouschester , Munster are playing I think but it is not a big match and Glouschester might be a tad bit depressing ...Any ideas would be much appreciated :D

    Paris.

If even it's freezing and shit, you can pretend the snow is romantic and just the way you wanted it.

Besides, all that food and wine. Yum.

You can't beat the classics. Steak and BJ, then bugger off to your mothers for the night and let him watch the footy

Skiing resorts would be busy, even if you don't ski there's a bit of nightlife and scenery and whatnot.

I might look into Prague, it appears they will still have their Xmas markets on until the 12th so there may be a holiday atmosphere about the place:D

We have been to Paris before and I am not sure he really liked it that much , which is a pity

Anywhere with the Xmas markets still, Paris, Vienna etc

    Skiing is obvious choice

Weekend away with blowjob vouchers is cheaper and more enjoyable.

I was in Paris in January before - BITTER cold

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I was there in 2012 and it was warm enough to go without a coat for the day.

And leave him a few sandwiches and make sure the beer is chilling in the fridge.

I think we will be taking a chance where ever we go in Europe, just hope it won t be a case that we get really poor weather conditions here and flights are cancelled

I know a lot of women think their man is different from the 'lads' but if you got some sort of truth serum in to him, he would love what I suggested. It doesn't mean he doesn't love you

:D not a chance, we did that in August it was lashing rain, no visibilty, heavy fog and I nearly collapsed going up it

Is he fat? Maybe a gym card?

Nothing says "I love you" like a gym pass.

Get pregnant and but a pic of a scan in the card. Could even do it as a wind up. You'll find out how much he loves you then!

Tell him it's January and he'll never see his 20's again.

For sensible suggestions, we would need more information on his interests. Track day at Mondello/Poetry weekend in Moscow/Grouse shooting/Threesome with hookers/Historical tour of Athens/Hike in Tipperary hills/.......

Track day might be interesting, he is in his cars although not fanatical but I am sure he would love this driving fast and all! He likes all sport particularly rugby, was thinking Heineken cup match on the 10th of January. No extreme sports, so sky diving etc would be out. As for threesome with hookers, I would say no but of course I would :P He is not really one for tours when away but does enjoy exploring out of the way places.

That match won't have been fixed yet so it could be on the 10th, 11th or 12th

So if you book it be careful like you don't want to book flights home for Sunday morning and the match ending up being Sunday afternoon

A trip to London? It's a great city. It could also serve as a useful reminder that just because he has hit 30 he doesn't have to start dressing like so many other Irishmen of his age. Namely: bootcut jeans, shapeless hoodies, easy iron shirts and plastic rain jackets.

Berlin is a class city. Great clubs, reasonably priced. Would be cold, but not freezing.
