anyone any idea how to get an even spread from either conor or hi-spec splashplate, abbey seems to be fairly good, slurry seems to be spreading heavier for about 8 or 10 feet wide behind the spreader.

Have the same problem, seems to be caused by the plate either side if the cone to prevent tank getting covered....

I had this problem with my new hi spec .
Bro in law had a older one and lovely even spread.
I measured up all plates and adjustments and still got a heavy stripe. Then I measured the hole in the cone his was a lot bigger. I had old cone of last tanker hole about 20mm bigger and perfect job, then push plate down til it toutches the rubber and away you go with a wide and very even spread. no more neighbours chatting
Plus less stuff sticks in larger hole.

Don't now how you would cut the cone straight enough though

thanks for that, be afraid to cut spout in case it would be worse then id be laid up and the deadline looming.

If you over lap the light bit it helps but still looks wrong.

Bit late now but for next year you could buy an abbey splashplate.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Hi spec is very even when correctly set up

Ours is touching the rubber and would be even across its width bar 4 lines which are created by the 4 corners at the bottom of the piece over the cone. Studied it on day it was spreading and you can see the heavier lines coming from it

I have an abbey, it leaves a heavy stripe behind the tanker, but then I bent the feck out of it , tried to re set it a few times recently , moved the plate up and down , moved the full assembly higher, at present it I spreading better but covering the back of the tanker in sh1t as well so more adjusting needed

To get the widest spread from your splash plate it should not touch the top of the cone there should be a gap of about an inch . You can cut the cone alright just have to drive faster . :)

I Have an Abbey tanker about 20 yrs now. The splash plate is 20mm off the rubber cone and the whole nozzle is then adjusted to its highest position. It gives a lovely cover no heavy parts or stripes.

With the hi spec there is a semicircle that fits over the cone. It needs to be just touching the cone near the clamp. If lifted an inch it spreads heavy behind tanker just right and you get around 8meter spread. A double spread from front and back of plate different to an Abby with a single bent plate if I can remember right.
