Working on a new build with no power on sight yet.
I am considering setting up a hidden CCTV as the site is isolated.
My neighbour who built recently had hassle.
Luckily I've been ok to date.
Has anyone got a camera. Battery powered that will send pictures to my phone/computer.

I have google they seem to be available

Why hidden? Surely make it visable as a deterrent if you do go that route?

So when a bad guy comes in. The first thing he will do is take out my camera if it is obvious.
Hidden or just discreet at least is what I'm looking for

He will be gone then with your stuff? Too late at that stage to catch him no?

Well at least if he doesn't see my camera I'll have pictures of the knacker so I can track him down

There is no point in putting in a covert cctv system in this situation. All that is going to happen is that the site may still suffer a break in and maybe if you are lucky you will have some footage to look at afterwards. You need a preventative solution rather than a reactive one.

If you are going down the CCTV route I suggest making it overt. It is not common that intruders will tamper with the cameras and most likely it will keep them away to begin with. The kind of guys that do building sites are not the same type that you will see in The Bourne Identity.

Another , cheaper solution would be to fit a few 'dummy' cameras around the site.

Your best solution to prevent theft would be a manned security officer doing patrols however this would be the most expensive.

It all depends on the site, what you are looking to protect and the vaule / risk. Hope this helps.

The images from CCTV systems are notoriously poor, even more so at night!
Therefore, there is no point in spending money on a covert system.
The deterrent of a fully visible system with plenty of signage is more valuable than a covert system.
Make sure the signage says images are recorded off site.
Even if you cannot afford a good system, I would start immediately with even dummy cameras and signage facing the entrance to the site.
