As my current strap has seen better days, I went hunting for a new one today in Dublin city centre. As my bass(es) are on the heavy side, I was after a 3.5" strap or even a 4", as the wider they are, the better the weight is spread. I was very surprised, that after visiting four shops, not one stocked anything above a 3". Even at that, the majority on offer were at the lower end of the quality scale.

Ah well....I'll just do as I had originally intended....buy on line. :)

That one was available in one of the shops I visited. I still think that the extra half an inch makes a difference. Obviously I'm in the minority, because if the demand was there, they would stock above 3".

Thanks for the reply anyway. :)

Italia Leather. I have a 4" wide leather strap of theirs for many years. I use it on my ridiculously heavy Aria basses.
I also have a narrower 2.5" wide one, which is very good too.

There's not a lot going on around here and I've been a bit bored with playing recently.

Yep ! it's been rather quiet around here of late alright.

Hope you manage to reignite your interest in playing. :)
