2010 peugeot 308 - serious electrical fault

    Hi there. first post here on the motor forums, really hope someone can help me out with an issue I'm having!

    Last August I went to start my car (1.6 diesel) and two warnings came up on the display - anti-pollution faulty and electric circut fault, all the usual lights came on, the radio came on but the car would not start. It wouldn't even turn over! I rang my garage and they said someone would be out to tow the carthe following morning. Later on that evening I went and tried to start the car, just to see if anything would happen and it started no problem. I brought it to the garage the following day anyway for it to be put on the diagnostic computer, there was a log of the faults and they reset and updated the caomputer in the car.

    This appeared to solve the problem, until a few days later it all happened again, the car started fine a few minutes later and I've had no problems since then until this morning.

    Now its giving the sane error and the car will not start at all. I'm at a complete loss everyone, if anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it.

    Update - Just tried to start the car again and the display now says its in economy mode, car still wont start... Any ideas?

    It will not come out of economy mode until the engine is started.

    Does it just make a clicking noise and not turn over..?
    Maybe worth checking the battery as a weak battery could cause this.

    Any idea of what faults were logged before..?

    Thanks for the reply Row, I don't know the codes that were logged for the faults before unfortunately. It's such a weird one though, I went out to the car earlier and had a look under the bonnet. I didn't really know what I was doing, but made sure all the electrical connections I could see were secure and disconnected and reconnected the negative part of the battery, couldn't reach the positive part as it was under a lot of plastic casing which I couldn't remove. Then I tried to start the car and it started no problem... When it wouldn't start I could hear one very faint click when I turned the ignition and it wouldn't turn over at all.

    You really need to see if there are any fault codes logged so we can get abetter idea where the problem is.....maybe post your location and then someone here maybe able to plugin for you..:)

    I know the engine bay fuse boxes can cause intermittent non starting but it could also be a lot of other things.
    Pm me your vin number and i'll see what system you have..?
