    Hi,
We want to get a piano for Christmas. I used to play and would like to a little in the future but its primarily for our kids to learn on growing up. One is a toddler now, the other only a baby. I think the toddler would enjoy it now and the exposure to more music would be great to help her learn in the next few years.
We want something that'll look lovely In the living room but isn't as heavy and immobile as a traditional piano - so maybe a keyboard? But I'd also like it to have real piano tone and feel. Im unsure of what type of instrument to get and plan on going to piano plus near red cow but would love to know some pros and cons before we go!
    All advice welcome :)

It's great your exposing your kids to music at a young age.

If you get a keyboard instead of a traditional piano you will regret. The keys won't feel the same, you can get keyboards with weighted keys but they still don't feel the same. The tone will be different. It's going to be less enjoyable for everybody.

Invest in a second hand piano. You could get a decent one for 1,000 euro. This is the kind of price range we're talking about it. If you can't afford it then don't bother getting one.

Plus, keyboards look terrible in comparison to a nice piano.

It's important when it comes to instruments to get the best you can afford. Sure you could spend 500 or so on a decent electric piano. I would rather kiss a girl than my pillow. Go for the real deal

dunno about where you are, but my local one has at least one piano a month.

we got ours, Free of charge, from a tutor at the school of music.
