Im thinking about moving down to queenstown for summer from christchurch. Was just wondering if anyone has lived (or is living) or worked there before as I hear its quite expensive. Ill probably stay in a hostel and work in anything initially be great if anyone had any recommendations?

Queenstown isn't that big and in the Summer it could be quiet (due to no tourists coming for the ski fields).

It's a lovely spot but from memory it's a high demand spot for WHV'ers looking for work.

Before you make the move check to see if hostels allow long term staying.

I live in Queenstown for the past 4 years.

Summer is relatively quiet compared to winter, but then is still a very vibrant town.

There are rooms to let ranging from NZ$120-150 a week for a single room. A typical 3 room house, furnished will go from $300-500 a week.
