Toyota Yaris power issue when cold.

My missus has a 10 year old Toyota Yaris (3 door) and recently it's begun losing power when the engine is cold first thing in the morning.

It starts fine, pulls out of the driveway fine but within the first 30 seconds it'll drop down to about 5/10kph even if your foot is to the floor, after about 5-8 seconds the power will then kick back in and it will run fine for the rest of the trip, idle is stable and accelerates like it should. Same problem again in the evenings when she's leaving work.

Any thoughts on what this might be before I bring it to a garage? Oil, filter and spark plugs were changed about 9 months ago. Any suggestions appreciated.
