Just browsing ebay for a few bits for the car and i found headlight bulbs made up of a bunch of little leds. The ad looks convincing enough and look like a somewhat cheaper alternative to HIDs.

    Heres a link to them

But has anybody tried them to know if they're any good?

If you're gonna put them into foglight lamps just to have some shine - buy them. Otherwise it's a waste of money as well as blinding other drivers and putting (not really only) your safety at risk. They'll be extremely out of focus, will never give proper beam.

They're rubbish, the light output from them is so poor that they barely illuminate 10ft in from of the car. They're for show only or fog lights but not mains.

I know the ones fitted to lexus have cooling fans because of all the heat generated by so many LEDs

Cheers everyone. To be honest i was thinking of putting them in the headlights but sounds like they're more for show than actually seeing where you're going at night. Putting them in the foglights doesn't sound too shabby an idea
