Which of these Laptops should I get.

Hi,

A friend of mine has asked me to try and get hold of a laptop through work for him. I haven't a clue when it comes to laptops so I'm hoping for a little help from those in the know

He'll only be using it for Browsing the net,playing movies, storing photo's and light office work on words and excel.

Below is a list of what I can my hands on, any ideas which are decent enough and which ones I should keep well clear of.

Any help would be appreciated.

If that is all he needs it for id just get the cheapest one you can get your hands on they will all do the job fine.

post above is right, any of them will do.

But from personal experience, stay away from the "satellites".
And he'll probably want a HDD of 500GB(or more) for storing movies etc.

I guess someone has never seen an AMD Fusion processor "in action".

Get the first one with the Core i3 3110M, forget about the rest.

Cheers for that, we were kind moving towards the below one because of the touch screen, what are your thoughts?

Also, Intel HD 4000 in the the Ivy Bridge processor is much faster than Intel HD 2500 in the Sandy Bridge processor.

The lack of a touchscreen is easily remedied with a few keyboard shortcuts.

Looking at these a little closer and checking out the processor like Torqay did I think it makes sense to go for the below 2 in that order.
With the 1st one having an extra 2GB of RAM and double the storage I think it makes sence for an additional €10.

I would prefer the Lenovo G580 over the Acer E1. (even if they the same specs)

Prices include VAT and delivery? May I ask for the source?

Yep, this is the landed price to me through a distributor I use in the UK with work, obviosly I'm making nothing on it because he's a mate.

I guess these are distribution prices to the likes of Currys,Dixons etc and they add on their mark up and sell in the shops.
