I have the following and would appreciate any advice re component changes or whether indeed a new build would be better.

    Running Windows 7 64bit
    Processor: i7 2600K at 3.4GHz quad core
    MBoard: Asus P8Z68-V LX
    GCard : AMDRadeon 7870 2GB GDDR5
    RAM:8GB
Hard disk: WDC WD5000 AAKYS-00YGAO ATA

    Thanks in advance.

Processor is more than fine. Graphics card is good and should max out battlefield 4. Could upgrade it to 7950 if you wanted better FPS but 7870 should be fine.

Have you your graphics card or processor overclocked? I'd definitely recommend overclocking them

    Thanks creep,

I have them set to overclock according to the settings allowed on e.g. the catalyst control centre. Would I be better off getting more RAM? A different MB?

More ram or another motherboard wont make a difference. I'd see how it performs with the current graphics card and see if you are happy. If not you could get a different graphics then but 7870 is still a good card
