    Yes, yes and no.
Yes, it's OK, and I haven't seen it.

Concensus on boards is that Boardwalk Empire it's better than I rate it.

Game of thrones is very good especially the first two seasons. Third was a little dissapointing compared to the other two but still quite good.

The Mentalist was good at first but a lack of storyline progression hinders after a while and when they do start to pick up the main storyline again in the last season I just didnt care. Too many run of the mill episodes and the main character gets annoying after a while.

    Havent seen Boardwalk Empire.

Only watched Game of Thrones and found it pretty good but no more than that. Would agree that the third series lagged and am looking forward with trepidation (so not looking forward at all) to when they get to adapting the fourth book (Feast of Crows or Feast For Crows I think) because I found it an absolute chore to get through. I read an awful lot but it's one of the few books that I absolutely had to drag myself through and I'm a bit lairy as to how HBO will pull it off. Story picked up again in the last book to be fair.

Game of thrones is great. The mentalist is enjoyable enough fluff. Old school TV. Solve a mystery a week. No great drama or angst.

Interesting.. Should be worth watching to see if they can convert It well

    Yes, Yes, Don't Know

Boardwalk Empire - it requires you to bring your brain and a long attention span but it pays off. There is rarely a cliffhanger and a lot of the main characters are historical so its easy to figure out who'll live and who's a candidate for early retirement. That said, you'll be entertained and learn something. Some people don't get it and I can understand that.

Game of Thrones - I was sceptical about "swords and sorcery bull****" at first but once I got into it - its got a lot going for it. Yes, theres dragons but they're very little and you'll like the lady who keeps them. Give the first three or four episodes a shot and you'll be hooked.

Mentalist - never been tempted to try it...just seems like the same old catch a crook of the week show..Law and Order SVU does that for me and its got Mariska Hargitay in it.

In short, if you're got a weekend to burn, watch GoT. If you want to make a longterm investment, Boardwalk Empire. Preferably both.

I love 1 and 3 and have only seen 1st season of 2 but it was very good.

Yes, Yes, No. Clearly the Mentalist must have some fans or it wouldn't still be on the air, but it's nowhere near the same league as the other two. Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire are two of the best shows on TV right now.

Boardwalk Empire - Absolutely. High quality drama that really pays off over the seasons as character arcs unfurl. It's not flawless (Maggie Schroeder, I'm looking at you!) but it manages to have some excellent characters, acting and dramatic moments.

Game of Thrones - Great fun and a good adaptation of the source material. It won't put off people who have a thing against "high fantasy" - GRRM himself has said that the fantasy elements are just used as a means to tell the story of a conflicting kingdom. Great characters and some brilliant scenes.

The Mentalist - Nowhere near the same level as the other two. It's pretty much a case-of-the-week show with occasional references to the series bad guy Red John. I actually stopped watching this - not only because of the episodic nature but because Patrick Jane basically comes off as a smug git who I really wanted to see get his comeuppance. That and the absurd logical leaps his skills gave him that they only sometimes bothered to explain.

Boardwalk is a slow burn and isn't half as good as it should be most of the time but it's still one of the best written and best acted TV dramas on TV atm imo. GoT is good but season 3 felt very choppy and dispersed, but that's inevitable I guess with they way the books are supposed to be.

The Mentalist is awesome. The show is on its sixth season, and it's still a great craic.
