This race is going from strength to strength each year with over 1000 finishers in last years race.

    Online entries available here.

    Dedicated race website available here.

Entry fee is reduced to €18 up until 31st October after which it will be €20.

For those of you who are on Facebook we are currently giving away 2 free entries to the race through our Facebook page here. And over the coming weeks we will be offering more free entries through our race sponsors, so don't forget to keep checking back to see who has the golden tickets.

Hope to see ye all in Athenry to run off that turkey & chocolate.

So it's six days to the off & if the rumour mill is correct we could be in for a grandstand finish as we have the possibility of former winner & current Dublin City Marathon title holder, Sean Hehir, lining up against five time Fields winner & course record holder, Gary Thornton. Gary made a return to the local road running scene in Galway last week with a 30.29 in the Ballinderreen 10km, a time which would have given him 1st position in the fields for the last three years. We could be in for a good one!!

We are close on 1200 entered at the moment & are heading for another record year but entry will close soon.

To enter see our dedicated race website here.

For race day final instructions see here.

To be in with a chance to win a free entry courtesy of our race sponsors see our Facebook page here.

See you all on the 26th.

I'll be there again, really enjoyed it last year even with those conditions :D
Hope I'm feeling more lively then, as lately after coming back from a 2 week lay off, I feel like a fat lump with heavy/dead legs :(

For anyone sitting on the fence, this is a good one :)

Thoroughly enjoyed this race. The addition of pacers is great for those of us targeting a time. I'd like to say a big thank you to the 50min pacer especially whose splits were spot on and gave us great encouragement and warning of upcoming hills and water stations.

The roads into Athenry were very slippy and the decision to delay the start by a half hour was spot on as the conditions were then ideal for running.

Well done to all in Athenry AC.
