    Guys.
Looking towards a MIT Outlander for the family.
    Anyone out there with one.
    07/08 2.0 Diesel.
    Wondering about MPG and reliability.

Shares it's platform with the Peugeot 4007 and Citroen C-Crosser. 2.0 litre diesel is a VW unit afaik and 2.2 diesel is a Peugeot/Citroen unit. All 3 were built in the same factory in Holland.

We have an 08, mpg is roughly 6.5-7l to 100km for normal driving. The 08 is in the new tax band so sorta high compared to rivals i think (750 for the year).

So far its never given any trouble, but the plastic in around the boot and rear 2 seats is very poor and has broken.

Had a 2010 one for a couple of years. Got it for 26k as Mitsubishi knocked 14k off the list price as they weren't selling. Did about 40mpg and was reliable the only problem being a sticking brake caliper and slight rusting around the exhaust mount. However the paint quality was appalling. You could literally scratch it with your finger nail. I've never seen anything as bad. Also the interior trim was was very flimsy, of very poor quality and and easily marked. Was quite nice to drive and the lockable diff was a nice feature. Would never buy another one though....can't believe Mitsubishi were originally looking nearly €40k for it

I've had two Outlanders over the last few years. Once it post 2007 (Diesel Version) you'll be fine. As previous poster stated 6.5-7l to 100km for the diesel version however pre 2006 (2.4 petrol versions) you'll looking at 22mpg and a ridiculous amount to tax. The version your're looking at it excellent for a family etc and I'd highly recommend one. The dash is a bit plastic but otherwise very reliable vehicle.

Bought a new one in 07 and had it for 3 years.

Good: great space inside, 40 mpg, nice enough to drive with adequate power, 4wd with lockable diff, comfortable, very reliable.

Bad: unrefined engine with an annoying flat spot, terrible paint quality, flimsy interior plastics.
