I was trying to flash a file onto my nexus 4 but it didnt work and now its bricked. Its stuck on the google screen, ive tried tried to wipe it, delete cache using clockwork mod recovery but to no avail. to compound problems when I plug it in to my computer it doesnt find the phone. ive no idea what else I can do, any help would be much appreciated.

Time to read up on adb and recovery images.

    Yup...

Loads of guides over on XDA...

Download the Android SDK and roll up the sleeves... :-)

haha yeh got it sorted, what made it more awkward was that I had to use a virtual machine on my mac. oh well, learned some new things!

Install TWRP right now. Its a life saver, and also do a nandroid backup with whatever ROM your using right now (stock preferable).

Secondly, if your phone is "bricked", it could be a soft brick. Hold both volume keys and power button for about 10 seconds and it should reboot into the bootloader which you can then figure out whats causing the issue (TWRP comes in handy here).

Out of interest, what were you flashing that caused it to soft brick?
