You need to register the name via the CRO website. Costs €20.

They send you out the Certificate. The domain registration company will probably seek a copy of this.

Do you already have a Limited Company or a registered business name?

If you currently trade, do you trade under your own name?

If you can't remember if you have a limited company, it most likely means you don't have a limited company! Either that, or you're in a bit of trouble with the CRO

You don't necessarily 'need' one to register a .ie domain. What's the domain for?

OK, do you trade under your own name or have you registered another business name?

If you have an accountant (or whoever helped you with the paperwork), they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Is it the business name your trying to get the domain for?

Click on this link, select "business name" and do a search for it, see if it brings back your details:
