Question about JSA and some work

    Hi,

    I am currently on JSA and I got offered some work. It's only for a few hours every few weeks and I am wondering who would I ring to find out about what to do?

    Ring the inou on 018560088 and they will give you good advice

    It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Its based on days worked and how much you are paid not hours

    I'll give you an example.

    I work 3 days per week @24hrs. I get a form sent to me every week from the SW which my employer fills out stating my days worked, I then send this back to the SW. They means test you at the start and deduct a certain amount for each day you work and give you JSA for the day's you haven't. I'm not sure if there's a limit on the amount earned but you can work a max of 3 days, even if it's just a few hours a day.

    TLDR: you can claim for the day's you didn't work, if you worked for 3 days or less in that week.

    Your local SW office should be able to help you out
