Does anyone know what the parking restrictions are on Townsend St on a Sunday? I'm hoping to start using the Markevitch Leisure Centre but would prefer to have the car so I don't have to go home to collect it afterwards.

Restrictions vary from spot to spot, you have to look at the signs outlining the restrictions that apply to each set of spots. But in general it is fair to say that parking in Dublin City center on a Sunday is a free for all as in there are no restrictions or any need to pay the meter. There is also a fair bit of free parking on Pearse St on a Sunday if the spots on Townsend St are full up.

Actually, on the St. Stephens Green to Parnell Square axis and nearby streets, you do have to pay on Sunday afternoon, at a reduced rate. http://www.dublincity.ie/RoadsandTraffic/Parking/Documents/rt2851_07b_Parking_Zones_and_Tariffs%5B1%5D.pdf
