    Hi all.
    I just purchased a Samsung S3 mini.
I find the messaging and phone book app dull & disappointing. After downloading a few different apps that are brighter and easier to use I find they dont have the option of placing the number beside each app to tell you you have 1 missed call etc.
Is there an app that has the ability to place number beside the icon to notify of missed call or new message.

Not unless you root the device, the ability to do that is not available to third party developers.

Like jail breaking on iOS. (Only a lot easier)

No, you'll have to find a ROM and/or an app that does the on a rooted device.

you could install a different "Launcher" on your phone, like Apex or Nova. These have the option to include number of missed calls/texts on icons

HulloMail will do that for you.

I have it installed on my HTC One X and I use it for my voicemail (uses data so Three don't get money out of me for checking my voicemail) but it also lists missed calls and the icon shows the number of missed calls + voicemails you have.

    No need to root either.

Surely an app with a widget will do the trick? Handcent does anyway.
