Minecraft halloween costumes?

    Hi gang,

My two sons are Minecraft mad and my 9 year old has his mind made up that he's dressing up as an Enderman for halloween after seeing some pictures of Enderman heads/masks on the interweb.

Before we set about making one I had a quick look online and all I could find were officially licensed heads from US and Canadian sellers that would cost upwards of €50 landed without any duty or VAT considered.

Has anybody come across anything similar cheaper and closer to home?

    Thanks in advance!

I don't know if you feel you'd be up for it but you could always make the mask yourself. A simple box template made out of a old cardboard box you have lying around and some black, purple and white paint should do the trick. Minecraft's art style means their textures tend to be made of of squares and rectangles, so if you have a ruler you should be able to make it no problem!

Edit: Also the head from Jinx doesn't seem to be too pricey, although for past experience they're not very quick with posting. http://www.jinx.com/p/minecraft_enderman_head.html?exp=go

The Jinx stuff is made of cardboard and folded up for postage afaik, but like juju said, it's not likely you'd have it shipped in time.

Get some cardboard or paper card and start painting would be the best bet. I'd even get the kids to help out - provided they're not too messy :D

Happened to be wandering around Manchester at the weekend and found a cardboard Steve head in Forbidden Planet for c.£17. I don't know if FP in Dublin have them too.

There are actually plenty of downloadable templates to print off of Steve, creeper and enderman heads, along with axes and swords, available for free on the web. Finding the right sized box or the right substrate material looks like it might be the only tricky part.
