Hi Everyone I d appreciate some advice on this one,

Last week my car was hit by another driver whilst parked, I was in my car at the time.
The guy admitted liability there and then, I got his name address and phone no. and details from his insurance disc.
There was quite a bit of damage to my car tail light broken, bumper ,lower bumper wheelarch liner ,mudflap all damaged. The guy didnt seem too bothered just said "sure thats all you need so" and walked away.

I rang him the following day to see what he wanted to do about it,no answer.Eventually after several calls he answered me 2 days later and says "yeah sure get a quote and let me know how much" but again he seemed a bit vague.

I got a quote at a local well regarded repair place, and been trying to contact the guy since no answer!

What next? Contact his insurers? I m kinda at a loss where to go next

Contact his insurance company and the Garda and give his details, happened to me at a junction and the clown drove off, luckily I got his reg and a witness, €2000 of damage, he coughed up when the Garda went knocking

2 choices... go straight to his insurers and leave them sort it or reluctantly claim off your own policy and leave your insurers recover outlay against his policy but if they are unsuccessful in recovering full outlay your no claims will be affected.

His insurers shomd act quickly to avoid increased claims costs arising from an angry injured party... you!

I wouldn't dither with the individual any longer to be honest. They have had plenty of opportunity up to now to contact the OP but haven't. Time now to up the pace and let both insurance companies deal with the matter immediately, that's one of the reasons they are paid.
