Stuck for Work Experience!

Ugh! I'm stuck for work experience ideas :O I've tried all the medical-related places in my town and even the UCC Med School but either they don't take on TY students because of the confidentiality of patients or else there's an issue with insurance  Running out of ideas! I'm going to try CUH in the morning to see if I could shadow one their Neurosurgeons (theres three there) because that's the area of medicine I'm most interested in. Other than that I'm stumped!

I know I could try the usual places, like primary schools or whatever but I don't want to do a job just for the sake of it. I actually want to do something I'm interested in! Anyone have any ideas of where I could try? My work experience dates aren't until January so I still have three months to sort it, but I want to try and sort something as soon as possible! :)

Is there anyone you could stay with in either Dublin or Waterford? If so you could try the royal college of surgeons mini med program which runs in January. It's quite hard to get into though and youd need to apply through your school :)

I've already said it to my Guidance Counselor in school about this :) I'd love to go to the Dublin one :D I hope I get it!

Although it isn't work experience, CTYI run a set of TY correspondence courses, and one of them is on medicine. I'm planning on doing the one on psychology or creative writing myself! Here's a link to their page
