Bought a car a few weeks back for parts, Still in previous owners name but I want to declare it as scrapped as it'll never see road again.

How do I go about it?

    Thanks! :)

I think it has to be scrapped to get it declared so. As in, the scrapyard has to stamp a form and all that and stand over the fact that it's been destroyed. If it's not going to see the road again, then what's the worry in getting it declared now? It's not going to need tax, nct, insurance since it's not going to be driven.

Yea I think that is the process. The old owner will have to sign the forms tho or you could just forge his signature, but don't change it to your name whatever u do because the previous owner will be paying back tax!

No one will be paying any back tax.
