Where you have 2 different sets of traffic lights in very quick succession and there is a yellow box junction and a space after the first light just enough for a car and the second traffic light changes to red, with a pedestrian- crossing right after the light, do you stop or beat the light so as to create room for cars emerging from the side road?
A typical example is Dublin rd in naas beside hyundai garage.

I had a look at that junction on Google maps. The pedestrian crossings are part of the junction. If you go into that junction on a green light then you don't need to stop for the red light on the way out. Your driving instructor should make sure you understand. A lot of people fail the driving test for big, but basic mistakes like that.
