We recently installed a new Windows 7 Home pro. All is fine, generally. The installation went fine and there are no other noticeable issues.

But we were trying to get a set of Microsoft Life Chat LS 3000 USB headphones and mic to work today and nothing would work. It just will not recognise them and won't find drivers anywhere even though I found the driver and installed it directly.

Then I went into device management and found yellow exclamation marks on each of the devices, USB Controller, SM Bus Controller and Ethernet Controller.

I uninstalled all three and rebooted. Windows tried to find drivers and ended up with the following screenshot.

Would anyone know what to try next ?

What make and model is the machine....usually you head to the manufacturers website and download the drivers from there......

Try a program called Slim Drivers. Its' free version should do the trick for you. When your installing choose not to install the search bar. And uninstall it when your done using. Otherwise it hangs around in the taskbar being annoying.

Right click on the item in question, click Properties, the Details tab and you should see a dropdown list. Select Hardware ID and copy and paste any of the hardware IDs listed into Google. It should help you find the required driver.

If you go into settings on slim drivers and you can stop it starting up with windows.
