Gym Confusion

I'm a fresher and I'm totally confused about the UCD gym situation. I attended an Induction and the guy who gave the induction just made it even more confusing and there was a massive queue of people to talk to him afterwards and I couldn't wait.

    So my confusion is this:
-Which gym is the performance gym? I thought it was the big fancy one that the public pay for?
-What's the team gym?-the induction guy mentioned this several times
-Presuming the "student gym" was where I had my induction, are students allowed access to this gym at all times or do restrictions apply like the public part?

The performance gym is in the old sports centre

The team gym is near to the performance gym but you can only access it if you're on certain teams

Yeah, there is a time restriction from 5:30pm to 8pm

Don't bother with the induction, I never did one, they seem like a waste of time.

I actually did the induction and you're right it was a waste of time, it might be useful if you'd never been in a gym in your life and didn't know how to turn on a treadmill but other than that the group was too big, the gym instructor seemed really over-whelmed and was flying through the talk as another group were waiting and to be honest he was a bit of a smart-ass too, one guy asked him about some lifting apparatus thing and he basically laughed in his face

There's a lot wrong with that gym and it needs to be sort out.

Like what? Have you tried telling them? How can you expect things to improve if you dont report it.

Don't start following me around boards making remarks on everything I write.

I'm perfectly entitled to express myself here.

Sure your the one moaning in all the threads. Perhaps be a bit more constructive! But I guess your user name sums it all up.

BUt really, what would you change in the performance gym. Like i said the plates are all over the place which bothers me.

Criticism is constructive, it just your interpretation is negative.

Do you work there or something?

NO I dont work there. Im a student and gym/pool user. How is your criticism above constructive? Maybe some details and directing them to staff rather than posting it here. Is that unreasonable?

Perhaps worth noting is if you're in Dublin for the summer the restrictions are removed.

You can't use the gym if you haven't done an induction. You don't have the choice of doing it or not.

May I add - I find the invisible line between the UCD Sports Centre and the "new student centre" very confusing
